Congratulations to Room 4's Sophie, Malena and Amber who have all excelled in writing and art this first half year.
Sophie has been successful in having her poem 'Mahia', published in the upcoming 4th Edition of Toitoi. This is a quarterly journal of writing and art by NZ children aged 5-13.
Malena entered her story 'Window Watcher' into North & South's short story competition for young writers, 'In The Hood'. She was awarded a 'Highly Commended' for her outstanding writing and has had her narrative published in the June edition of the magazine.
Amber entered her artwork and accompanying poem 'Waimarama Beach' into the 'Top Outdoor Spot Competition' offered by the NZ Walking Access Commission. She won 2nd Place for 'Best Drawing', with her prize being presented to her at HNI's assembly on Friday.
What a wealth of talent we have in Room 4. We are all very proud of you, girls!
