The harsh sunbaked sand rolls forever on like an ocean. Large mounds of sandstone jut out of the desolate plains. The heat waves rise out of the dry sand deterring your vision making hallucinations in the hot desert. Meanwhile, a light brown falcon swoops out of the cloudless blue sky landing neatly on the smooth sandstone rock beside her crying chicks, underneath the scorching sun. [Charlotte]

The old, abandoned, stone hut hid underneath a thick layer of over-grown moss and pale green vines. A cracked, stone path led its way through a trail of dead trees, shaped like spooky stickmen. A huge black cloud hung over the hut, waiting to burst out in tears. You could hardly see through the smashed, dusty windows. I thought to myself, “Who would wanna live here?”

As the darkness lengthens and the amber sinks the seeking birds flock and the yearning killer slinks towards the blood red, horizon.(Quinn)
The dilapidated, shabby, outdated house was surrounded by lifeless overcast skies.(Upinder)

The dark sky above the huge mountains, with a river flowing through the hills and past the old, crooked house into the ocean.(Vincent)

The sand is smooth, soft and silky. The ocean was shimmering in the sun with a huge whale jumping out of it. (Jhayden)

The towering hills surround a compact bay on an island centered in an archipelago. The gulls perch on the old unsturdy pine trees. As night slowly falls over the village, the people inch their way back to their homes from a festive feast.  (Juan).

A gleaming Sun bursts with nature, with nature also playing it’s part with lively grass alongside a touch of a ebony fence. ( Mankaran)

Solid grey rocks shadow over the fast-flowing water-fall that crashes down into the rough, wavy lake.(Jenna)

A dawning day with a  radiant sun and emerald green grass gleams off a forgotten statue that’s jeweled with gold, of a brave soldier and a young horse. The forgotten pair will
reunite and will be remembered and cherished for their ordeal,as the enemy murders their people. (Ffion)

I’m a moist cave, dripping with crystal clear water. The dark, lonely forest beckoned me towards it with it’s shadows dancing through the magnificent trees. (Georgina)

The forest is the most peaceful place ever, and is an animal home to all creatures. With fragments of pine trees and blooming blossoms  we walk across the freshly mowed grass and the smooth pebble path and check out the clear glistening water. (Mya)

It was a quiet night, all you could hear was the cracking of the fire and the water splashing and hitting the rocks. All you could hear was the flowing water of the stream and all you could see was the twinkle of a star and the glow of the moon .(Madi)

This an deserted town.(Hikaru)

A lone, vivid fern tree sit’s in a feral widespread forest. (Willow)

A classic kenworths chrome and metallic blue paint sparkles in the big bright sun. (Dan)

The worn-out silhouette of the mountains casting a gloomy shadow over the grassy paddock, abandoned and old. The  dilapidated fence in the distance parting the two senior trees neither one wanting to fall.  (Ilaria)

The frosty mountain throwing out freezing cold snow not looking forward to melting.Blossom trees catch the wind blossoms getting pushed around the fast flowing glistening river. The breeze cold as ice from the snow giving me a brain freeze. (Gemma)

As the twinkling night slowly creeps into dawn, the enchanted cave glistens with mystical flower vines. The glossy, oversized tree’s blossom vividly into glowing petals of mystery, with the sharp, rusty cliff reaching for more height! (Candice)

Room 12-helping to make a change in Vanuatu......

Sophie Roberts' parents are travelling to Vanuatu at the end of this week. Their goal is to take a suitcase of school stationery and supplies into a village school. These schools don't have computers, sports equipment, or a library. Fees, books and uniforms are too expensive for families whose average income is less than $3000 US per year. Often only one child is able to go to high school.
As a class Room 12 have made a coin trail and raised $45.00 towards the purchase of a bucket of Lego which could be enjoyed by children in one of the schools. We are hoping our contribution will help make a positive change in their lives and are looking forward to seeing photos and sharing updates of Mr and Mrs Roberts journey.
