..........Even More Fun With Fractions Today

Making Music and Memories at HNI

Room 4 have begun their cycle of music lessons and will attend classes with Mrs McHattie every Tuesday afternoon for Term 2. We're learning about different styles of music, composers and how to play the chords of D, G, A7 and Em on the guitar. With 17 Room 4 students learning an instrument through HNI's tuition programme, we could just about make up an orchestra of our own!!

Incredible Idioms!

Room 4 have been exploring Proverbs and Idioms, particularly those related to our Inquiry topic, 'The Incredible Human Machine'. We know an idiom is a common phrase or expression that means something other than the literal meaning of the words. Our task was to choose an idiom and present it in a creative way. Can you guess the idioms represented in our photos?

It was all body business today in Room 4!

Our Inquiry focus for Term Two is 'The Incredible Human Machine'. We will be learning how the human body functions and responds to change. Today Room 4 used materials (plasticine and paper) to sculpt and create body parts. We shared and discussed what we already know about the physical human machine and posed questions about things we would like to discover on our Inquiry journey this term. In the Technology Challenge task 'Congratulations Doctor' below, we had to create the following organs: heart, lungs, stomach, large intestine, small intestine, bladder, liver, kidney, oesophagus and  brain and place them in the correct position on our patient's body. We're sure we would all have passed medical school with flying colours with these efforts!!

Can you guess the body parts/organs we have sculpted below?
